Timely Persuasion - Online Edition - Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments

I promised too many people I’d mention them here, so please don’t be offended if you’re referred to by a group and not a name.  In rough order of the sequence that led to this, I’d like to thank:

•The musicians who wrote the songs that inspired me.

•iNetNow (for folding at the right time for me to start) and Voce (for letting me leave at the right time to finish).

•Jon Mack, for talking me into trying this and letting me mooch on his couch, laptop, and Internet in Lux for two months.  Also thanks to Jon’s roommate Andreas for putting up with the whole idea, and to everyone in Luxembourg and at the Arizona bar who made me feel so welcome during my stay.

•All of the early readers and editors who provided valuable feedback, especially Lynne Vu, Adam Johnson, Nate Pepper, Kathy Legendre and the extended CarriageHaüs family.

•Chris Evjy, for letting me have “Won One.”

Dave Eggers, for teaching me that the copyright page is meant to be read.  (Mom, your mention is there.)

•Jessica Francis, who put up with the constant rewriting, diligently read and reread, and may be the reason my future self wanted me to write this book in the first place.

José Roberto for the perfect cover image.

Jeff Winston, Pamela Phillips, Henry DeTamble, Jud Elliott, Billy Pilgrim, Sam Deed, James Cole, John Titor, Dan Vasser, Livia Beale, Tru Davies, Daniel Eakins, Sam Beckett, Al Calavicci, Marty McFly, Emmett Brown, Bill S. Preston, Ted “Theodore” Logan, Hiro Nakamura, Eckels, Aaron, Abe, Will, Sherman, Mr. Peabody, and anyone else who has walked in their shoes.

•And last but not least, thanks to Neil Janulewicz, whose very existence made this novel necessary.
